Basic bike maintenance

By David Newman • Aug 28th, 2009 • Category: Features, Maintenance

At the CVC members’ meeting on 26 August 2009, Michael Thomas of Michael’s Bicycles in Newbury Park offered an in-depth clinic on basic bike repair techniques: Fixing flats; cleaning cables; dealing with bent derailleur hangers; checking headsets; cleaning chains; and checking wheel bearings.

Thanks to Michael Thomas for giving the clinic, and to David Chambers for shooting the video.

  1. I clicked onto your website because I was looking for a ride route since I will be visiting the Thousand Oaks area on Friday. I live in the San Luis Obispo area, north county.

I enjoyed your video on flat tire change. Very informative, I think a refresher on these things are always worth watching. So cool.
