Ride Locations/Descriptions

The Conejo Valley Cyclists rides offer something for everyone.  We have beginning to advanced recreational rides as well as race paced training rides.  Rides begin either in Westlake Village or Thousand Oaks.  Join our mailing list for the latest information.

Rides with a Thousand Oaks start location begin from the Bank of America parking lot at the corner of Hillcrest and Wilbur, entrance on Wilbur.

CVC ride descriptions

PurpleNo one gets dropped on this beginners’ ride, which starts every Sunday in Westlake Village. Come out and join the fun!
The purple ride leader is assisted by two additional experienced riders riding front-back-middle of group. To volunteer to lead purple rides, contact the purple ride leader. Average pace on purple rides is around 12 mph on flat terrain, but again no one gets dropped on these rides.
GoldIntermediate ride is every Saturday. Usual routes are Lake Cruise at 15 mph +/- and Hidden Valley (distance 30-40 miles, some climbing). Best done on a road or hybrid bike.
OrangeAdvanced/intermediate ride is every Saturday. Goes at a slightly slower pace than the red ride (around 17 mph average on flat terrain). Ride distances are usually in the range of 40-60 miles. Road bikes.
RedAdvanced rides every Saturday (including Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the summer months). Some pace-line work and climbing. Average speed around 19 mph on flat terrain, distance 40-75 miles. Road bikes.
