Cruisin' the Conejo 2007
Ride Descriptions
- 21 mile Scenic Cruise
- This ride takes you through the Conejo Valley communities of
Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village. The route is not completely
flat. There are a few hills going into and out of Hidden Valley.
This is a short-cut tour, taking about 14 miles out of the 35-mile
route. Most of the 21.2 mile ride is on bike paths.
- 35 mile Scenic Cruise
- This ride takes you through the Conejo Valley communities of
Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Oak Park, and Agoura Hills.
There are a few hills (1500 feet of climbing), but most of the
ride is on bike paths. The ride is actually 34.8 miles, but
we thought you wouldn't mind if we rounded up.
- 62 mile Challenging Metric Century
- The challenge starts midway through the Scenic Cruise as you
make the famous Rock Store climb up Mulholland into the Santa
Monica Mountains. There are breathtaking views that are certainly
worth the stop as you catch your breath. The descent down highway
23 back into the Conejo Valley will remind you of the excitement
of the old "E-ticket" rides at Disneyland. The ride takes you
through Hidden Valley before returning to the start point. The
ride measures 61.8 miles and has 4500 feet of climbing.
- 68 mile Moderate Metric Century
- If your heart sinks at the sight of the climbs in the
Challenge Metric Century then you will love this extended metric
route. You start off with the 34 mile scenic route and then join
the Full Century riders in Hidden Valley and cruise down into the
Oxnard Plain, returning to the Conejo Valley through the
communities of Moorpark and Simi Valley. The ride measures 67.9
miles and has about 3000 ft of climbing.
- 103 mile Full Century
- After riding the Challenge Metric Century through the Santa
Monica Mountains you will descend into the rich farm lands of
Camarillo in the Oxnard Plain, returning to the Conejo Valley
through the communities of Moorpark and Simi Valley. The ride
measures 102.8 miles and a full 6000 ft of climbing. A challenge
for the serious century rider.
According to Cruisin' policy, route slips will only be available
the morning of the ride.
