Cruisin’

Wow! It’s 2010, and we all know what that means…

You got it, another edition of Cruisin’ the Conejo!
Cruisin’ is back for the 26th time with all its fabulous routes from the children’s 12 to the full century. Set in the gorgeous southern California countryside of the Conejo Valley and its surrounds. This area is now the spring training ground of choice for world class pro cyclist teams. We could not put on this great event without the crucial work of BSA Troop 753, Cub Scout Pack 3753, Whole Foods Market, and our volunteers. Thank you to all.

This year, Cruisin’ is proud to be associated with the fabulous Amgen Tour of California. Come and ride the same routes that the international pro cyclists will be racing two weeks later for their final stage! In conjunction with ATOC we will be offering some extra fun events at pre-registration night (Friday, May 7) and at the post-ride lunch. Check this website for latest details as they develop.

ROUTES

  • 12 mile: guided children’s ride. Suitable for ages 10-15. Each participant must be accompanied by an adult.
  • 21 mile: both guided and unguided. A great route with beautiful scenery. One of our CVC ride leaders will be leading a guided group along this route for those who are unsure to venture out on their own.
  • 35 mile: an extended version of the 21 mile route with some extra climbing for riders willing to push themselves a bit more (1500’ of climbing).
  • 62 mile: The challenging version of our metric centuries this route takes you into the Santa Monica hills via the famous Rockstore Climb. The 2010 edition of the Amgen tour of California will be running up this climb on their final stage so don’t pass up on this opportunity to ride on part of a world class course (4500’ of climbing).
  • 68 mile: this is the more relaxed of our metric centuries. This route tours you around the beautiful Conejo Valley followed by visits to Camarillo and Moorpark (3000’ of climbing).
  • 100 mile: Our fabulous full century route. You’ll ride over mountains and through valleys (6000’+ of climbing).
